Staggered ladder spectra.

چکیده
We exactly solve a Fokker-Planck equation by determining its eigenvalues and eigenfunctions: we construct nonlinear second-order differential operators which act as raising and lowering operators, generating ladder spectra for the odd- and even-parity states. The ladders are staggered: the odd-even separation differs from even-odd. The Fokker-Planck equation corresponds, in the limit of weak damping, to a generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process where the random force depends upon position as well as time. The process describes damped stochastic acceleration, and exhibits anomalous diffusion at short times and a stationary non-Maxwellian momentum distribution.

Rung-Rung Current Correlations on a 2-Leg t-J Ladder
We report the results of numerical calculations of rung-rung current correlations on a 2-leg t-J ladder with J/t = 0.35 for dopings x = 0.125 and x = 0.19. We find that the amplitude of these correlations decays exponentially. We argue that this can be understood within a bosonization framework in terms of the pinned phase variables associated with a C1SO phase with dx2−y2-like power law pairin...

We develop the technique of Thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz to investigate the ground state and the spectrum in the thermodynamic limit of the staggered XXZ models proposed recently as an example of integrable ladder model. This model appeared due to staggered inhomogeneity of the anisotropy parameter ∆ and the staggered shift of the spectral parameter. We give the structure of ground states and low...
متن کاملStaggered orbital currents in the half - filled two - leg ladder
One of the most intriguing phases of strongly correlated electrons is known variously as the ‘‘orbital antiferromagnet,’’ the ‘‘staggered flux phase,’’ or the ‘‘d-density wave.’’ It is characterized by circulating currents which produce local magnetic moments aligned in an antiferromagnetic ~staggered! way. As a consequence, timereversal symmetry as well as translational and rotational symmetri...
متن کاملStaggered flux phase in a model of strongly correlated electrons.
We present numerical evidence for the existence of a staggered flux (SF) phase in the half-filled two-leg t-U-V-J ladder, with true long-range order in the countercirculating currents. The density-matrix renormalization-group finite-size scaling approach, generalized to describe complex-valued Hamil-tonians and wave functions, is employed. The SF phase exhibits robust currents at intermediate v...
متن کاملBroken time-reversal symmetry in strongly correlated ladder structures.
We provide, for the first time, in a doped strongly correlated system (two-leg ladder), a controlled theoretical demonstration of the existence of a state in which long-range ordered orbital currents are arranged in a staggered pattern, coexisting with a charge density wave. The method used is the highly accurate density-matrix renormalization group technique. This brings us closer to recent pr...
